What is Menopause?

Menopause is a transition! While it is confirmed someone is in menopause on a specific day, the transition into menopause takes place in various stages. Pre-menopause or the stage after the first menstrual period. Peri-menopause which is the start of your transition into menopause. Menopause, which is usually marked after the last menstrual period and of course Post-menopause which is the stage where we spend most of our life after the last menstrual period.

How many calories should I eat?

We will calculate macro-nutrient amounts and have a range to make sure we stay full while minimizing cravings. As with any program, its success will be determined by the habits we learn along the way. How many calories will depend on your age, weight, activity level, daily routines, life stressors, energy levels and recovery. We want to balance our plate with quality nutrient dense food to ensure satiety while minimizing cravings.

How do I know I am no longer in Peri-menopause and have entered the Menopause stage??

Menopause is considered after the last menstrual cycle and is confirmed after 12 months without a period.

Can I still be social, have drinks and maintain my current lifestyle?

The answer is 'yes' & 'maybe'. It will depend on the amount we drink, how many days we go out and what actually counts as 'social drinking'. It will also depend on the impact it has on your progress, metabolism, sleep and energy levels. Everyone is different and there may be some adjustments we will make, but not at the expense of enjoying your current lifestyle.

What are some ways I can minimize menopause symptoms and still see results?

While every plan is unique and its always on a case by case basis, the key for good health in any stage is nutrition, exercise (if possible), daily movement, rest and of course stress management will all have a huge impact on your success.
